ABC Ohio Campus Ministry Update

ABC Ohio Campus Ministry in Cincinnati is comprised of two dynamic branches of student outreach: Campus Christians, a newly established ministry active on both University of Cincinnati campuses, and the local chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). Both ministries work through student leaders to bring the light of Jesus Christ to students.

Mission

The mission of the ABC Ohio Campus Ministry is to deepen student relationships with the Lord Jesus Christ, while working to conform our lives to Him through faithful living, daily worship, discipleship and unmitigated love for the Lord and our neighbors.

Vision & Goals

We desire to see college students transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that the Lordship of Christ is evident in their lives in word and deed. While addressing contemporary challenges such as Biblical marriage, the use of drugs and alcohol, the meaning of suffering, gender and sexuality, racism, atheism, pluralism and more, we aim to challenge this upcoming generation to be filed with the Holy Spirit and not to be drunk with the spirit of the age.

What are some ways we carry out the mission?

  • Student-led Bible studies at UC Medical School

  • Faculty & Pastor-led Bible studies at UC Blue Ash

  • Friday-night fellowship

  • Lunch Talks with Guest Speakers on a range of topics relevant to Christian life in the university context, partnering with organizations such as the Veritas Forum and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations

  • How it began…

It all started with a taco truck, donut tables, and conversations about Jesus at the bus stop. One student expressed interest in starting a group, and that grew to three students studying the Book of Hebrews at the UC library in the Spring of 2024!

The group grew to fifteen students studying the Gospel of Mark in the Spring of 2025, and Campus Christians became an official campus organization! Even more exciting was that two students came to faith and were baptized! Praise the Lord!

  • Where we are headed…

Campus ministry is going strong at UC-Blue Ash with eighteen new students expressing interest in the group at the Welcome Back Bash in August, with Campus Christian veterans, Ty and Masha, welcoming new students and inviting them to attend groups at UC-Blue Ash and main campus!

  • Our campus ministry at the University of Cincinnati, both the main campus and the Blue Ash campus, was blessed by the Lord this year. We saw the UC-Blue Ash Bible study grow from three students in 2024 to 15 students in 2025, all of whom attended our weekly Bible study and evening events. Partnering with one of the math professors and one student, we formed an official campus organization at the Blue Ash campus called Campus Christians. Four of the UC-Blue Ash students went on a Mission trip (sponsored by Kenwood Baptist Church) to Montreal, Quebec—a North American stronghold for secularism, where only 1% of the Quebecois are Christian. We spent eight days serving with SEMBEQ, the Evangelical Baptist Seminary in Montreal and with Eglise Source De Vie (Source of Life Church) in the smal town of St. Cesaire. In the smal town, we made many new friends. The team did multiple service projects for over twenty different people in the community, including demolition, landscaping, cleaning, and much more. The highlight of the trip happened when worship broke out in Kelly’s backyard (a nonbeliever), using a karaoke machine that she had furnished to take a break from the work projects. The group of about fifteen workers, including seven Ohio students, all sang in unison, “No Longer A Slave to Fear.”

The academic year at UC-Blue Ash begun with eighteen new students expressing interests in the Bible study on Thursdays. Currently, we have a solid group of ten new students coming, hoping to increase their love and knowledge of the Lord. Our signature verse for Campus Christians this year is, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.
